Overview of the Recording Interface

Route

The recording interface is accessible at: /speaker/record

The page header permanently displays: - Your name: confirms that you are logged in - The assigned language: the language you are recording for - Log out button: to close your session

Two Main Tabs

MOTS Tab

  • List of all words to record (positions 1 to 6 of each card)
  • Organized by card number and by theme
  • Each position is an independent recording

PHRASES Tab

  • List of all phrases to record
  • Only positions 1 and 4 (in the African language)
  • Positions 2 and 3 (in French) do not appear in your interface — they do not require recording
  • Organized by card number, with the 2 lots grouped together

List Filters

Three filter buttons for each tab:

Filter Displays Counter
All All items Total
To do Items without audio Remaining count
Done Items with audio Completed count

The counter shown on the "To do" and "Done" filters updates in real time after each recording.

Global Progress Bar

At the top of the list, a progress bar displays:

45 / 480 recordings

This represents the total number of items with audio / the total number of items to record for the active tab.

Structure of an Item in the List

Each item displays:

Element Description
Card number E.g.: "Card 3"
Position E.g.: "Position 2" or "Lot 1 - Position 1"
Text in the African language Large — this is what you will pronounce
French translation Small — for context
Status badge 🔴 To do / ✅ Done
Listen button 🔊 Listen to existing audio (if available)
Record button 🎤 Open the recording modal (if not yet done)
Re-record button ✏️ Redo the recording (if already done)

The Recording Modal

When you click "Record" or "Re-record", a modal window opens.

Area Description
Header Context: "Card X, Position Y, [Type]"
Main text The word or phrase to pronounce (very large)
Translation Smaller, for reference
Record tab Use the microphone (active by default)
Upload tab Send an existing audio file

Closing the Modal

  • Click outside the modal
  • Or use the × close button
  • ⚠️ If you close without submitting, the recording is lost
