Real-Time Counters

Two levels of counters are available:

Global Counter (List Header)

45 / 480 recordings

Displayed at the top of the list for the active tab. Updated immediately after each submission.

Filter Counters

On the filter buttons:

To do (435) Done (45)

These counters show: - To do: number of items not yet recorded - Done: number of items with audio submitted

Using Filters to Stay Organized

"To do" — Working Efficiently

The "To do" filter displays only items without audio. Use it to: - Know exactly what remains - Avoid losing time browsing already-completed items - Track your progress from session to session

"Done" — Reviewing Quality

The "Done" filter displays all items with audio. Use it to: - Listen back to your recordings with fresh ears - Identify items to re-record - Check sonic consistency across items on the same card

Listening Back to Your Recordings

To listen back to an already-recorded item: 1. Click the 🔊 "Listen" button on the item 2. The audio plays (streaming from the server)

When to Listen Back?

  • After 20–30 recordings in a row
  • At the start of each new session (listen to the last 5)
  • Before finalizing your work

Critical Listening Criteria

Criterion Good To redo
Volume Clearly audible Too soft or clipping
Clarity Each syllable distinct Muffled, blurry sounds
Background noise Silent or very faint Audible distracting noise
Tone/intonation Correct Wrong tone (tonal languages)
Duration 1–5s depending on content Overly long silences, cut-offs

Re-Recording an Item

If you are not satisfied with a recording:

  1. Filter on "Done" to find the item
  2. Click ✏️ "Re-record"
  3. The modal opens
  4. Make your new recording
  5. Submit — the new audio immediately replaces the old one

ℹ️ Replacement is immediate for new learners. For learners who have already downloaded the content offline, the new audio will be available at their next internet connection.

Indicative Goals per Session

Profile Recordings/session Session duration
Beginner 20–30 30–45 min
Regular 40–60 45–60 min
Experienced 60–100 60–75 min

Do not rush at the expense of quality. A poor-quality recording that needs to be redone takes more time than a careful first-take recording.

Your work has an immediate and permanent impact. Every recording submitted improves the experience for thousands of learners.
